A Word from Our CEO

Welcome to the Urban League of Hudson County's web site. The Urban League of Hudson County (ULOHC) was established in 1972 as the 100th affiliate of the National Urban League. The ULOHC serves residents of Hudson County and provides leadership throughout the state in promoting initiatives that assist individuals and communities in their efforts to achieve economic parity.

Our mission is to empower, promote self-sufficiency, and advance the cause of opportunity for our diverse constituency. Through collaboration, outreach, information and technology, the ULOHC has developed services that help level the economic playing field.

The Urban League administers programs and services that assist African Americans, Latinos, and other ethnic minorities as well as low-income families in such areas as childcare, education, employment and training, family and individual counseling, senior services, and youth development. Working with a multi-cultural and multi-lingual staff, the ULOHC serves more than 50,000 persons annually.

The ULOHC is part of Hudson County's One Stop Network and works in conjunction with the County Workforce Investment Board, Jersey City Employment and Training, and the New Jersey Department of Labor. We ask that you support our efforts to promote economic and social equality.
