Senior Supportive Services Program / National Family Caregivers Services

Senior Supportive Services Program / National Family Caregivers Services [SSS/NFCG] provides case management services to seniors facing health and/or economic problems. . We provide assistance and advocacy, benefit entitlements so that seniors receive the services they and their relative need in the area of healthcare, homecare, housing, entitlements, companionship and emergency services as needed. In addition, we provide dental and optical services to qualified senior on a yearly basis. 

Jersey Assistance Care Giving Community

A seniors program that provides similar services, as Senior Supportive Services Program / National Family Caregivers Services (SSS / NFCG). Services are rendered to the senior population in Hudson County, while offering the opportunity to choose their service provider. JACC is designed to assist seniors and their relatives that may be over the income level for County funded programs. 

Adopt-A-Parent

Adopt-A-Parent provides a support mechanism for parents in crisis. Experienced senior volunteers are placed in the homes of referred families to assist and aid with child rearing. The program offers: family counseling, individual counseling, companionship, hands on training. All clients under this component are referred by the Division of Youth and Family Services. Supervised Visitation Program

Supervised Visitation Program provides children that have been placed in foster care the opportunity to visit with their parents in a supervised, neutral, and safe environment. Our personnel supervise visits to monitor the family bonding process and document all dynamics for the ultimate goal of family reunification.  The seniors significantly contribute to this program by assisting the care managers with the monitoring of these visits.  They also attend to the children's needs:  feeding, changing diapers, etc.  Moreover, the seniors provide a comfort to the children during their stressful time in foster care.

Adolescent Services Center

Adolescent Services Center Program provides home visits, educational and social assessments, including referrals and advocacy to teenagers, and teenage parents, ages 13- 23, in need of parenting skills and guidance. Program provides individual and group counseling.

General Social Services

General Social Services offer critical and emergency assistance to Jersey City residents. Referrals, advocacy and follow-ups are our primary focus. Referrals are made to: Food Pantries, WIC, Welfare/AFDC, local health institutions and shelters.

Application Assistance. We also assist clients with their Social Security and PSE&G application Assistance is available throughout the entire process.

Family Service Center

This component provides therapeutic counseling to 38 (thirty-eight) families referred from North Hudson District Office. The goal of this component is to reduce the dysfunction of the families, and increase their communication skills by empowering them. Through the provision of in-home diagnostic, therapeutic, and counseling services, these families begin the mending process; therefore preventing the removal of children and /or aiding in the return of children previously removed. Services include, but not limited to, individual and family sessions.
