The Child Care Food Program (CCFP) is a federally funded program that provides reimbursement to family day care providers for meals served to children in their care. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and is administered on the State level by the New Jersey Department of Education, Bureau of Child Nutrition Programs. You must be a registered provider to be eligible for this program.
In order to participate in the Child Care Food Program as a family day care provider, you must be evaluated by the Urban League which will act as your representative to the state agency. The Urban League will come to your home for an interview and discuss the Child Care Food Program and Family Child Care with you. Your home will also be evaluated to make sure it meets the basic requirements for the care and safety of children.
The following is a general outline of what must be served at different meals.
